Ananey Communications Ltd. launched the Israeli Food Channel, the greatest televised culinary project ever attempted in Israel on June 11th.
The Israeli Food Channel is branded as the Israeli School for televised culinary & entertaining programs featuring easily obtained, practical and local Israeli information. The channel will accommodate various cuisines: different ethnical cuisines, homemade food, fast food solutions for working people and career women, health food, gourmet cooking, baking, entertaining and beverages.
The channel will place special emphasis on proper nutrition and healthy cooking as part of an over-all concept of healthy lifestyle.
Most of the channel’s original contents will actually provide an alternative to hands-on cooking classes, in the form of cooking workshops filmed in various kitchens. A prominent panel, comprised of both renowned and promising young chefs, will accompany the channel as the channel’s Israeli faces.
Among the original programs which are scheduled to debut during the first months after the channel’s launching, are:
“The Food Academy”: Ten cooking workshops, 30 minutes each, starring expertise chefs that specialize in a specific cuisine, including: organic food, chocolate, cake & pastries, fish etc. Among the Israeli chefs who will be hosting the new channel’s programs are: Aviv Moshe (Messa Restaurant), Ayelet Latovitz (Beta Cafe), Ronen Dovrat Bloch (Jolson/Lawrence Restaurant), Avi Biton (Adora Restaurant), Shoshi Steinowitz (Healthy Food) and more.
The Channel’s purchased programs are all recent top-rated programs, which the Food Channel purchased from the American Food Network - the world’s leading producers of food programs and cookery shows. Other purchased programs feature contents by world-renowned chefs such as: Nigella Wilson, Rosemary Shrager, 2 new Floyd series, a new season of the program “Iron Chef” and more.
The Israeli Food Channel will air from day one with the backup of complemental digital platforms such as cellular phones, HOT’s VOD and an www internet homepage: www.haimtov.co.il/food.

Hosting and Beverages is hosted by Lilach Garman, owner of a catering company that specializes in exclusive gourmet events. Avi Biton, chef and owner of the Adora Restaurant, is considered the “bad boy” of the Israeli culinary milieu. Previously to establishing his restaurant, Avi Biton worked for several years as chef Nir Tzuk’s su-chef in Jaffa, and with chef Rafi Cohen in Raphael Restaurant and Yoezer-Bar-Yayin Restaurant. Biton also consults restaurants across the country and aboard. On his program World View, Biton will prepare a cosmopolitan gourmet meal including a first course, a main entree with a side dish and a dessert, using ingredients that derive from French, Moroccan and even the Far East cuisine, fused to create new flavors.
Contemporary Homemade Cooking with Ayelet Latovitz
Ayelet Latovitz, former host of the first season of the cooking program “Garlic, Pepper and Olive Oil”, a participant in the program “The Tastiest There Is” and “The Food Guide”, is to appear on a new program Contemporary Homemade Cooking where she will teach the viewers how to add a new zest to ordinary and conventional homemade dishes, proving that homemade cooking mustn’t be trite and predicted.
Gourmet Cooking with Aviv Moshe
Aviv Moshe, 32, defines his cuisine as “an exciting and experiential cuisine combined with culinary memories from my mother’s house.” Moshe attained his culinary experience in restaurants such as: Chateau in Ein Kerem, Baraca, Nevieem 54, Neptune Hotel Restaurant and others. In 2005, he co-partnered to establish the prestigious Messa Restaurant, which redefined the Tel Aviv nightlife experience.
On his program Gourmet Cooking, Moshe will prepare a first-class gourmet meal using top-quality ingredients by combining touches of French and local cuisine that merge to form an original unique Israeli cuisine.
Healthy Kitchen with Shosh Steinowitz
Shoshi Steinowitz, who established the Delight Restaurant in Herzelia Pituach, is an expert on healthy and tasteful calorie-conscious gourmet light cooking. On her program, Healthy Kitchen, Steinowitz will instruct the viewers on how to cook a nutritious full-course meal with delicious low-calorie dishes that are a delight to the eyes as well as to the tongue. Contrary to the belief that tasteful food is fattening, Steinowitz will demonstrate how to cook a wholsome meal, consisting of a first course, an entree, a carbohydrate side dish and a dessert, which will be devoted to a different theme on each program, such as: holiday meals, healthy children meals, nutritious meals for pregnant women etc. Steinowitz will accompany her demonstration with tips on healthy and low calorie cooking, such as: frying onion with one tablespoon of oil and how to fry eggplants with no oil at all. Doctor and chef Rani Polak, 35, director of the cooking classes program for heart disease, diabetes and Coeliac patients and nutritious gourmet cooking in Haddash Medical Center, will join Steinowitz each program in preparing one of his special and nutritious recipes.
Rosemary Queen of the Kitchen
Rosemary Queen of the Kitchen features chef Rosemary Shrager as a headmaster of a cookery school in England, who reaches America and teaches different people that lack any culinary experience to prepare gourmet meals. Among the featured recipes: French Bread, stuffed chicken, potato pie and, of course, an assortment of highly recommended desserts.
Iron Chef America, second season
