Netflix heads back to Greenhouse Academy

The global SVOD giant has ordered a third and fourth season of the live-action teen drama from Nutz Productions

Netflix has commissioned two more seasons of Nutz Productions’ teen drama Greenhouse Academy. The original live-action series is based on Nutz’ hit Nick Israel show The Greenhouse, and the remake marks the first time an original Israeli series was acquired by the global SVOD giant.

Nutz Productions will produce the new episodes for seasons three and four in Israel over the next year, which will be adapted by series creator Giora Chamizer and Janae Bakken (Anger Management, Malcolm in the Middle, Scrubs). Chamizer will also serve as showrunner, while Amir Mann (Fauda 2) will direct the upcoming episodes.

The series follows a group of students at an elite boarding school in Southern California as they band together to thwart an evil plot.

Nutz Productions is the production arm for Israeli content, production and distribution company Ananey Communications Group. Israeli prodco Keshet International holds the international distribution rights to the series, excluding the Netflix deal.
