“Forever Shattered”, a New Documentary Dedicated to the Sex Crimes of Hamas in Israel

Paramount’s Tel Aviv-based Federation Studios and Ananey Studios are joining forces to produce “Forever Shattered” — an investigative documentary on sex crimes committed by Hamas during its Oct. 7 attack on Israel.

Forever Shattered is directed by Benoit Bringer, a filmmaker and investigative journalist who has previously directed documentaries including The Rise of Wagner, The Caviar Connection and Panama Papers: The Hold-Up of the Century. This new documentary will show factual scenes of how Hamas has used rape and sexual terror as a weapon of war, inflicting physical, emotional and psychological trauma on women, children and men. The terrorist group’s attack in Israel on October 7 resulted in about 1,200 dead and 250 hostages, writes Variety, AlbanianPost reports. During and after the attack, countless cases of sexual violence, especially against women and girls, were reported and documented at the Supernova Music Festival. The documentary will delve into these events through research and investigation, while following the victims’ journeys to recovery.

“After October 7, a battle for the truth began in Israel: a historic mission to independently document what happened, especially to women, during this day of terror,” Bringer said in a statement. “The project investigates the extremely difficult quest to establish facts and raise world awareness of gender-based crime as a weapon of war,” he adds. Bringer is a member of the Pulitzer Prize-winning International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) team investigating the Panama Papers. Before becoming a freelance filmmaker, Bringer covered the war against the Taliban in Pakistan and Afghanistan for French public radio and the Franco-German public television channel Arte.

October 7 was also the subject of a documentary entitled “Supernova: The Music Festival Massacre”, which chronicled the attack carried out by Hamas on the festival where 3,500 people from many countries gathered a few kilometers from the Gaza Strip.
