Paramount’s Ananey Studios Remnants Wins 2025 Rockie Award for Best Youth Drama at Banff World Media Festival

The first scripted youth drama to explore the impact of October 7th, broadcasted on KAN Kids channel, wins after being nominated alongside BBC and Disney titles.

Remnants, the youth drama series produced by Paramount’s Ananey Studios, has won the 2025 Rockie Award in the Live Action: Youth category at the prestigious Banff World Media Festival in Alberta, Canada. The award was presented on June 9 during the festival’s official Rockie Awards ceremony.

Created by Eden Gurion and Yair Peri, directed by Roman Shumunov, and aired on KAN Kids, Remnants stood out in a highly competitive category, earning the win against entries from global media giants including BBC, Disney, and ZDF Studios.

Remnants is the first scripted series to deal with the impact of October 7th, exploring the way teenagers deal with the loss of close family members. The story follows 14-year-old Rona as she copes with the loss of her sister in the October 7th terror attack. When she meets Oren, classmate who carries grief of his own, the two form an unexpected bond that forces them to confront memory, bereavement, and healing. The series offers young viewers a powerful exploration of grief and resilience in the shadow of national and personal trauma.
