yes Studios has announced that Wonder, its new YA series, co-produced with Paramount’s Ananey Studios, will receive its premiere on Yes TV on July 3rd and is now available for full international acquisition.
Wonder (8 x 42’) is an entrancing Sci-Fi thriller set in a technological future that is closer than we might realise. When 17-year-old Noya (Noa Kirel) is killed in a mysterious car accident, her father Avner (Moris Cohen) struggles to believe it was truly an accident. When going through Noya’s crushed phone, he discovers a mysterious digital realm that Noya had hidden from him, along with a clue that leads him to Daria (Yovel Lewkowski), a high school student by day and a bartender and influencer by night. More importantly, Daria was Noya’s close friend. Daria and Avner, who seemingly had nothing in common, are bound together with no choice other than cooperating, and an unexpected bond forms between the two the closer they get to Noya’s secret – an addictive underground game called WONDER, which sucks in many teens and now also threatens to carry them away.
Wonder was created by Yishai Orian (The Beetle, Citizen Kopatz) and Yair Sagi (The Beetle, Burned) and produced by Paramount’s Ananey Studios (Fireflies, 4:20). It stars Noa Kirel, one of Israel’s most high-profile young acting and musical talents and the singer behind its 2023 Eurovision Song Contest entry, as well as Yovel Lewkowski (All Time High on Netflix, Top Floor), Moris Cohen (Embassy Down, Girl Undercover), Daniel Assayag (Embassy Down, Shnot HaSmonim) and Jonathan Bar Or (Cramel, United High).
yes Studios, home to major international series such as Fauda, Shtisel, Your Honor, Night Therapy and Embassy Down, will share international distribution for Wonder with Paramount’s Ananey Studios.
Hila Pachter, VP International Relations at Ananey Studios, said: “Wonder is the kind of series that grabs you by the collar and doesn’t let go. It’s sharp, bold and emotionally charged, and taps into the anxieties and questions of our hyper-connected world. Collaborating with yes Studios on this project has been a dynamic and rewarding experience, and we’re looking forward to introducing this unique story to international audiences who are hungry for something that feels both timely and unexpected.”
Sharon Levi, managing director at yes Studios, added: “With Wonder, Yishai, Yair and the team at Ananey Studios have created a gripping new thriller and a startling near-future world that really doesn’t seem too far away. Its fresh look, feel, and dynamic young cast will undoubtedly make this series hugely appealing to YA audiences worldwide, while its central premise means it will also be enjoyed by anyone who appreciates clever mystery dramas.”
